Technical details
Input:
Steel – used 101.6 to 203.2 mm width (254mm max equipment width) 
Alloy – used 197mm max. width

Steel preparation:
-    Decoiler
-    Welding + buffer for continuous operation
-    Leveller
-    Degreasing
-    Linishing (Z36 belt) with lateral movement – one head and brushing of 
        back surface – one unit
-    Induction heating for alloy thickness adjustment (max 300oF)

Alloy preparation:
-    Decoiler
-    Wire brushing – 3 heads with automatic pressure adjustment 
        (electrical current)

Roll bonding:
-    Waterbury Farrel 4-high rolling mill with mechanical screw-down and AGC
•    Separating force 1.500.000 lb (680t)
•    Single drive 500 HP
•    Maximum strip (incoming): thickness 12,7mm x width 254mm
•    Back-up rolls width 24” (610 mm) x Ø28” (711mm)
•    Working rolls width 24” (610 mm) x Ø15” (381mm)
-    Incoming speed from 7 to 10 m/min, depending on steel thickness
-    Total strip thickness checked with Vollmer contact gauge
-    Steel reduction 38-40% and alloy reduction 50-53% (depending 
        on usage of steel induction pre-heating unit)
-    PLC/HMI based on Allen Bradley US

After roll bonding:
-    Scrap marking on the alloy surface (marked areas removed 
        in other operations)
-    Flying shear
-    Recoiler
